The media converter has two SC connectors for transmitting (TX) or receiving a signal (RX). The optical signal is transmitted and received in the first transmission window - 850 nm . TP-LINK devices have built-in MDI/MDI-X autodetection , which means they do not require the use of patch cables and automatically detect and set the speed and mode of data transmission. They work with a "store and forward" mechanism that checks the correctness of all received data by calculating checksums.
